TSUTAYA is an inn where you can experience traditional culture.

We recommend staying with your family, especially if members from three generations can join. Experiencing Saku's traditional culture is sure to create wonderful memories.
For a memorable experience, please feel free to touch the loom used by local residents from the Meiji to Showa periods.

The room rate includes weaving, indigo dyeing, dinner cooked over a sunken hearth, kamado experience, rice cake making or Oyaki dumpling for breakfast and concierge fee.

There are no children's rates. Guests must be at least 10 years old (4th grade elementary school students and older). Please understand that this is for safety and fire prevention.

Cautions before making a reservation

・Please use the kamado (fireplace), sunken hearth, and wood stove with caution, as they may cause burns, fire, or monoxide poisoning. Please use them with the utmost care and consider ventilation as needed.

・To prevent fires, security cameras are installed near the hearth and wood stove. No video recording is made.

・The inn is a Taisho period building, and bedrooms and baths are on the second floor, with stairs going up and down (no elevator).

・The hinoki bath can be used at any time. It takes about 30 minutes to be ready.

・Please refrain from bringing in any grilled food that will transfer the smell to the ashes in the hearth.

・The sunken hearth is for charcoal only, and wood is not allowed to be burned in the sunken hearth.

・For fire safety checks, only the area around the hearth and wood stove is monitored by video.

・The fire sparks from the hearth and stove may cause holes in your clothes. Please wear cotton clothes.

・Aizome experience might stain your clothes.(We will provide you with an apron.)

・Smoking is not permitted in the entire building.

・Pets are not allowed.

・The house is not barrier-free.
